As a result of a selection programme with the autochthonous variety-town of origin known as "Agridulce de La Vera", the varieties Jaranda, Jariza and Jeromín were obtained by selecting plant-plot on the basis of genealogical factors and using self-fertilisation. These varieties are different in plant size, fruit calibre and flavour (sweet, sour and spicy). Preservation of a collection of several varieties of the region’s autochthonous tomatoes.
